Today, winning the battle for talents is one of the most important growth factors for all regions and places. Place Managers worldwide realise that the challenge lies in recruiting talents for key positions, something that has become a strategic element for all locations anxious to nurture their growth. Many places around the world are also preparing for this battle by building platforms where private and public sectors cooperate in order to win.
Last year, Bearing published a report on Talent Attraction. This report is now available as a White Paper in English. The basis for this White Paper is the study from 2012 on what is actually being done to attract talents to certain locations. 100 Swedish municipalities were interviewed about their concrete measures to attract talents and not least to establish long term relationships with current and potential residents.
One of the main impressions of the study is that there is a lack of structured and comprehensive attempts focusing on Talent Attraction. The strategic perspectives are just in the beginning of taking root and are developing slowly, something that is a major barrier to growth for places all over the world.
